A Personal Journey of Resilience and Becoming a Therapist
I’ve always carried a deep sense of empathy. Growing up alongside an aunt and a close relative who lived with schizophrenia gave me an early understanding of emotional pain, human complexity, and the quiet courage it takes to survive unseen battles. Even as a child, I often found myself as the go-to person for friends and classmates when they were struggling. They told me they felt safe, heard, and never judged around me. Looking back, I believe the seeds of my calling were planted early on.
Becoming a therapist was never just a career choice—it was a natural extension of who I was. So, I pursued my Master’s in Psychology to turn this calling into professional competence. Yet, it wasn’t until life challenged me deeply that I came to truly embody the resilience I now guide others to find.
Everything changed on March 31, 2022. I was told I had thyroid cancer. The diagnosis shattered me. I underwent surgery and had my thyroid removed—only to learn later that the biopsy report was benign. I didn’t have cancer after all. What should have been relief came with a different kind of emotional shock. I had lost a healthy organ. The grief was real. The questions were endless. The ground beneath me shifted.
In that moment of chaos, I turned inward—drawing on the very principles I teach. As a trained Positive Psychology Coach, I applied the tools of resilience, reframing, mindfulness, and acceptance to my own healing. It wasn’t easy. It took me two intense months of emotional processing to find my ground again. But when I did, something beautiful happened: I discovered an even deeper commitment to helping others.
I realised this experience didn’t just bring pain—it brought purpose.
Today, when I sit with my clients—whether they are battling anxiety, navigating loss, struggling with self-worth, or trying to repair relationships—I meet them not only with professional expertise but with lived empathy. I understand what it means to face the unknown. To grieve. To question. And to rebuild.
My therapeutic work is rooted in authenticity, emotional safety, and empowerment. I don’t just guide clients from theory—I walk with them from a place of real understanding. I’ve seen how pain can become the path to personal growth. I’ve lived it. And now, I help others do the same.
If I could find healing and meaning in adversity, so can you.
As a therapist, I bring warmth, honesty, and a grounded presence into the therapeutic space. My clients often describe me as calm, compassionate, and deeply attuned—someone who listens without judgment and supports them with empathy and insight.
What sets my work apart is a unique blend of emotional depth, practical tools, and a holistic understanding of human behaviour. I integrate the latest in psychological research with a deep respect for each client’s lived experience.
I offer therapy in both English and Hindi.
I believe healing is a whole-person journey—emotional, physical, and spiritual. This philosophy shapes not only my therapeutic work but also how I live and engage with the world. I often draw from body-based mindfulness practices such as the Body Scan to help clients reconnect with themselves and regulate their emotional state.
In my own life, I find peace and inspiration in birdwatching—a practice that grounds me in presence and deep listening. I’m also a trained voice-over artist, which nurtures my love for language, expression, and rhythm—skills I bring into my work with communication anxiety and self-expression.
I’m happily married and a proud mother to a daughter who is also happily married and creating a meaningful life of her own. My personal experiences in relationships, parenting, and transformation deeply inform the empathy and realness I bring to my sessions.
Outside of therapy, I continue to learn and grow—whether it’s through reflective reading, practicing mindfulness, or exploring new ways to support emotional resilience and authentic living.
